I was sitting here browsing thru the profiles and galleries of various painters throughout deviant art, and I had an epiphany. I think that I have finally figured out why it is that I have not really gotten into painting. For that matter, I have not done much beyond reproducing (or attempting to reproduce) only the things which I can see. I look through these galleries and I see such freedom of thought, and expressions, as though the brush and paint move on their own, and the artist is merely the conduit through which they move (and that is not to take ANYTHING away from the amazing talent). What is is, however, is a statement in regards to what has hindered me from unleashing my own creativity... I am AFRAID of it.

I let my logical mind confine me so much into making what is, that I have never allowed myself to delve into the dream of what COULD be! I have had all of these ideas swimming around in my head for ages... merely thoughts, but never really expressed, and definitely not released. It has occured to me that they WANT to get out! my procrastinating them, subduing them, never quenches them, it only makes them lie dormant, until the next wave. Can anybody tell me how to just "let go" as it were? Because I am really curious to see what might come out

Whatever work I have been doing is going to be on hold for the next two weeks. I am going home to Canada for about 10 days, and then as soon as I come back, I have to move apartments, so it will be a busy time. I do hope that I will get rright back into the creative groove that I have been in though, which includes a few more of the pop art paintings, as well as a couple of colored pastel pencil pieces I want to get finished, and a charcoal piece I am about half done. My new apartment is bigger too (Woohoo!!!) and has more light, so it should be more conducive to working!!! hehehe

This is just a short note. I am having a Couchsurfer stay with me for a week in September, then I am going back to Canada for a week as well. Life is busy, though it has recently slowed down ever-so-slightly. Summer has been hot, and I think that it is finally starting to cool down a bit. I have been far too busy to draw, though I do have a couple new WIP's. I have a stack of work to catch up on for school on Monday, which sees the start of a new term. Aside from that, there has not been too much going on. Since not that many people actually watch me, I also feel good enough about myself to confess that I am mostly making this entry to bump the last one out of the spot on my homepage!!! LOL
